Urgent Prayer Request: Steve Richards (UPDATE)

Saturday, March 25 (Update)

Thank you for all of your prayer!! Steve was allowed to come on home last night. The spot on his lung turned out to be an air pocket that presented as a mass on regular x-ray (God intervened on that one!!!!). His staph has spread to his sinuses, so he will continue a bombardment of antibiotics, and of course, seek the Perfect Healing of Our Father :) He does have infection in his lungs, but pretty typical for C.F. If he does not improve, he will still be able to remain at home, and give himself I.V. antibiotics. Many praises for this weekend, and great thanks to all of our loved ones who went to the mat for Steve ;) Love you all

Please pray for the family of Chad Thomas, a friend of Christy Chain's, age 31, who took his own life last week. This family has so much to work through emotionally. They need our prayer support.

Prayer Request: jmw's friend with aggressive caner

Hey everyone. I have a prayer request. A dear friend of mine from Birmingham, AL was recently diagnosed with a very aggressive form of lung cancer. His name is Adam Trowbridge and he is a young man, 41, and has battled and beat non-lymphoma Hodgkin's back when we were in college. This new bout is very serious. He'll be beginning chemo shortly and they're really going to pour it to him to beat back this nasty disease. His doctors have only given him two years (best case),...but you and I know that to underestimate the tremendous healing power of prayer is silly. God CAN heal anything and anyone if he so chooses. And I also know that each of our prayers and petitions are hosted and heard by God himself as He sits upon His throne. So, please, with all the sincerety in your heart, please pray for total healing for this young man and father.

It has been said that, "it's our job to paddle, and His job to steer." Please paddle hard...I have no doubt that God will do his.

Thanks,
jmw

Prayer Request: Karla and Steve Richards

Hi all...I have a prayer request for my friends who battle in prayer regularly: Steve has respiratory garbage going on AND now has two staph infections. Staph can be brutal to anyone, but can prove fatal for Steve. He is on meds, and I believe God has other plans in all of our lives that are not yet fulfilled. Would you all please pray to the Mighty Physician and Healer?
Thanks muchly; love, k:)

Your chances for going are not dependent on attending. This is only a discussion meeting. Most likely it will be in either January/February or September/October. I am hoping for September/October.

Welcome to the Galey Sunday School Class Blog

Welcome to the Glenn and Gayle Galey Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church in Hattiesburg, MS.

The purpose of this site is to help the members of the Galey Class communicate and share information: class and personal updates; prayer requests and praises; "homework" assignments; and anything else that needs to be shared or communicated within our extended "family."

Ok, first things first: WHAT IN THE WORLD IS A "BLOG"?

A web log or "blog" is a website in which items are posted on a regular basis and displayed in reverse chronological order. Like other media, blogs often focus on a particular subject, such as food, politics, or local news. Some blogs function as online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. Since its appearance in 1995, blogging has emerged as a popular means of communication, affecting public opinion and mass media around the world.

WHO CAN POST TO OUR BLOG?

To start off with, Gayle will be the administrator, or primary poster of information to the site...however, everyone can post feedback, comments, prayer requests, praises, photos, questions,...anything you want everyone to see. I think the class member family and new baby pictures would add a lot to the site, so please feel free to include them. What better way to stay close than to share our photos!

HOW DO I POST TO THE BLOG?

While anyone will be able to see the blog, which will be listed on the Internet at www.galeyclass.blogspot.com, to post to the blog you'll need to sign up and create an account on the site. It is easy, just go here: www.blogger.com/home, and sign up today.

At the bottom of each post (story, update, etc) there will be a link to post your comments.

As the blog description said, post will appear in reverse chronological order, meaning that what's posted today will appear above yesterday's post. But you will be able to scroll down and see all the post and updates.

Ok, that should get us started. If you have questions, please post then to the site and we'll figure it out and post the answer back on the site. We'll also try to include interesting reference Internet sites and other bits of information. The most important part is that we all use this blog...otherwise, it serves little purpose.

A great way to remember to check the blog regularly is to "bookmark" the blog on your Internet browser. To do that, simply click the Bookmark button that is usually at the top of the computer screen and then you'll have it right there on your computer all the time.

Again, let's use this interesting technology to spread God's word and to do His work efficiently.

God bless.
